Quick Resources

Welcome to Monterey!

Monterey is a picturesque, bustling town located on the edge of the largest and deepest national marine sanctuary in the United States. Monterey's role in California's history is well documented by many historical sites and museums while cultural opportunities abound at art and theater venues throughout town, and breathtaking natural beauty awaits you at every turn.

Right in the heart of all of this is also where you'll find the beautiful Monterey Conference Center and, right across the street, the Monterey Marriott Hotel. Sample Monterey's award wining regional wines, relax on the beach or at a local spa, dine at one of the seventy restaurants within walking distance, or hang out at one of the downtown British Pubs with ACM friends new and old! Most of these opportunities are located within just a few blocks, or take a ten minute walk and find yourself on historic Cannery Row where you can visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Monterey celebrates the 4th of July in great style, so consider coming early to participate in a hometown Independence Day Parade followed by a Backyard Barbecue at City Hall and culminating in a spectacular display of fireworks over the Monterey Bay. Tuesday you can go whale watching, check out some tide pools, walk the Path of History, visit Fisherman's Wharf, and finish the day by enjoying the Tuesday evening open air Old Monterey Market in downtown, where you might eat a great dinner from one of the food vendors or find the perfect memento from your trip from one of the many arts and craft booths. In planning your trip, remember that like San Francisco and other communities on the California coast, it is a good idea to dress in layers for Monterey's climate. Go to the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau to learn more.
