amp is a nonprofit community
media organization which provides training, equipment, studios
and channels to facilitate Public, Education and Government
programming on the cable system and other electronic media
for the purpose of sharing ideas and information. Our technology
is designed and purchased to assist you deliver your ideas
and information easily, without needing to be a technology
expert. Many of our services are available to help you find
and submit the information you need via our website. You
don't need to be an expert, because our services, training,
and partnership make it all seem so easy!
amp's control
room relies on NewTek's
VT 5 live production system for a multicamera
switching and effects system for its studio. VT 5 is a system
that can be used as a switcher OR an editor OR a graphics
station. It combines live switching of up to 24 sources,
real-time editing of both uncompressed and DV clips, character
generation, painting, both 2D and 3D animation, integrated
Proc Amps, Waveform and Vectorscope - even Internet streaming
capabilities.
amp makes available
to producers various
portable production systems including
IMovie HD
and
Sony HD cameras.
amp provides
DVD-quality
distribution and archive for all five of our Comcast
cable channels via a
Synergy
Broadcast system. This allows us the flexibility
to schedule 5 channels of broadcast content, 24 hours a day.

system to display local non-profit and service information
on Comcast Channel 27 throughout Monterey county. You can
add messages to this system here.
amp uses Microsoft
Windows Services to deliver programming
via the Internet. This gives our partners and programmers
the ability to share ideas and information with users throughout
the world. Our live streams are available here.
amp is a connected enterprise
which utilizes fiber optics and IP connectivity
to provide content and information. We're connected directly
to the City of Monterey's I-net CSUMB/CENIC's GigaMAN.
Our VBrick systems
allow us to broadcast live from sites throughout
this system, including weekly broadcasts from Monterey City
Council.
