AMP Training Courses
 
 

AMP's training is available to residents of Monterey County who want to create a Public Access program.

Prior to your first class, you must attend a community orientation (held Mondays at 5:30 PM). Also, you must register and pay for all classes in advance, as schedules are subject to change.

Fees are based upon residency: $50.00 per course for residents of Monterey and Marina and $100.00 per course for residents of other communities, or as noted in details below. Basic Camera class on Mondays following the orientation is free.

Editing with Final Cut Express  2/20/2012 6:30:00 PM  Take your editing skills to the next level with this workshop on Final Cut Express and enhance your videos with advanced editing, graphics and text, working with multiple video and audio tracks and more. This course takes place over two Mondays, Feb. 20 and Feb. 27 from 6:30 to 9 pm each night. Previous experience with editing software such as iMovie or Movie Maker is required. To attend this class you must attend the general Monday night orientation and enroll previous to the class. Field Production  2/6/2012 6:30:00 PM  If you want to make your own videos this is the class to start! No experience necessary. This class covers Digital Field production techniques using the Sony HD 1080i Digital camera, microphones, lights, etc. This is a 2-week class: Feb. 6 and Feb. 13 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm both dates. It is required to attend the free General Orientation on Monday night previous to enrolling in the class. CANCELLED  1/23/2012 6:30:00 PM  Learn how to edit your video in this practical course on Apple's iMovie `11! This class covers the equipment needed, capturing and fixing your video and audio, arranging sequences, working with titles, transitions, graphics, working with imported audio and sound effects, publishing your project, etc. It is a fun and easy way to get introduced to digital editing if you don't have previous experience. Basic understanding of video production is recommended but not required. 2-week class: Jan. 23 and Jan. 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. It is required to attend the free General Orientation on Monday night previous to enrolling in the class. Basic understanding of video production is recommended but not required. 2-week class: Dec.12 and Dec. 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. It is required to attend the free General Orientation on Monday night previous to enrolling in the class. You Tube Essentials  11/30/2011 6:00:00 PM  Come learn YouTube Basics on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 6PM to 7PM at AMP, 2200 Garden Road, Monterey, CA 93940 from Zee Labega. It's free! Zee will give you a very general idea of how YouTube can help you. She will share: - 3 ways to use YouTube (store and share videos; find kindred spirits; learn almost anything) - 3 YouTube techniques (playlists; friending/subscriptions; tags/titles) - 3 ways to support AMP (friend/subscribe to AMP; promote your AMP show; submit clips from your show for AMP's YouTube channel) If there's time, she'll give you 3 extra YouTube tips. And then there will be time for questions afterwards.
