Weekly AMP Update

March 4, 2005

Happy (Very Belated) Valentine's Day!

So sorry this Update has been on unexpected hiatus!  The Edgar Kennedy Awards took on a life of their own…but, I hope those of you who joined us will agree, they were well worth the work!  Now, back to all our other business…

The intention of this weekly email update is to keep you informed about what is going on here at AMP…schedules, volunteer opportunities, special events, and the like.   If you have information you would like to include in a future update, please send it to me via email at dawn@ampmedia.org . Likewise, if you would prefer not to receive these updates, just send an email to my email address with “remove” in the subject line, and I will take you off.  Finally, if you know someone who is not receiving these messages who would like to, please forward that information to me as well!

  • Alliance for Community Media Conference

Now is the time to consider volunteering for, or registering for, the Alliance for Community Media's National Conference to be held in Monterey July 6 – 9, 2005.

  • Modified! AMP Support = Amy Goodman Tickets!!

Become a financial supporter of AMP and receive a ticket to sit in one of the first five, center rows of Amy Goodman's July 9 th lecture in Monterey .  Of the 494 seats available, only 100 are in the first five center rows, so sign up before this limited opportunity is gone! When tickets go on sale to the General Public the event is sure to be a sell-out.  Take advantage of this pre-sale opportunity to support AMP and secure your up-close seat to hear Democracy Now!'s Amy Goodman speak.

To be an Individual Supporter is an investment of $100.00 and includes one reserved ticket to Amy Goodman, while a Household Supporter designation is an investment of $175.00 and includes two reserved tickets to Amy Goodman.  The front row center seat will go to the first person to sign-up and seats will continue to be assigned on a first come, first served basis…the sooner you take advantage of this opportunity, the better your seat will be!

Contact Dawn Pease Bryant at AMP by calling 333-1267 or emailing to dawn@ampmedia.org .  Seating priority will be based on receipt of pledge.  Payment can be made with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard (a 3% processing fee will apply to credit card transactions).

Become a supporter today and secure your reserved seat to see Amy in July!

  • New! Bringing in New Series

New Series or Series Renewal applications are due before April 1, 2005.  Programmers and Producers are invited to attend to a special orientation for the new series season. Whether you are a veteran programmer or aspiring producer, you should attend this workshop to learn how to make your series successful. The workshop is on Friday March 18 th at 6:00pm .

  • New! Producer Orientation

Special, required orientation for new producers, will be offered following public orientation Monday, March 21 (at or around 6:45 PM).

  • IMPORTANT! Equipment Returns

Keep at the forefront of your mind that checked-out AMP equipment MUST be returned on time.  Late returns can have devastating impacts on other producer's scheduled projects. If you commit to returning a piece of equipment and then do not follow through, the next person it has been assigned to is out of luck.  Penalties for late equipment returns can include monetary fines as well as suspension of check-out privileges.  Don't let this happen to you!
