M. D. BAER CONVERSATIONS AND COLLABORATIONS
An intimate dialogue with artists, writers, photographers, dancers, and the like about the creative process - part of an art project by M. D. Baer
Conversations and Collaborations is about a new work by M. D. Baer - The Dance of the Little Bells - part of the project involves a conversation with the creative community about the role of the artist in these interesting and unsettled times - Baer's new work begins with this statement: It was a movie about art about a dance that was a poem told in pros that was a play with music about a cabaret in a future time in a future place that rhymed with an older time and older place and was much like now where everything was weird – At midnight the curtain came up on the Ballet Bonga as they whirl-twirled upon the stage with sets by Picasso – one of many amusements to be found in the backstreets of Love Token Alley – where love songs and mad songs and songs of joy and sorrow are sung to compositions by Kurt Weil with texts by Bertolt Brecht except it’s not the masters of Weimar but the expatriate Hollywood duo of Lester Bester and Sam Bunny...so look for the sign of the Rockafella dime - ten cents gets you in...
